IMPROVING JOURNEYS BETWEEN HARROGATE AND LEEDS

We’re seeking views on proposals to improve bus journeys and junctions between Harrogate and Leeds via Alwoodley. Buses on the A61 between Leeds and Alwoodley face delays of up to 13 minutes. Our improvements could help to eradicate this, making buses more reliable and attractive.

We have contacted you as you have previous signed up to alerts on this scheme. We have updated our plans to improve bus service reliability for this route following public feedback we have received and additional analysis we have undertaken.

Our plans now include proposals for King Lane and Stonegate Road which did not form part of the original consultation.

The consultation also includes plans to build a Park and Ride facility at Alwoodley Gates.

Please take a few minutes to read these updated proposals. They show the latest improvements along this route, how these have changed in response to your feedback. You can also find an update on the bus lane proposals we consulted on during October 2018.

We aim to come back for further public consultation with our updated proposals to make bus services quicker and more reliable on the route in late 2018 or early 2019 but we have identified three specific improvements that could be delivered more quickly, so that the benefits can be seen earlier.
