IMPROVING JOURNEYS BETWEEN HARROGATE AND LEEDS

We’re seeking views on proposals to improve bus journeys and junctions between Harrogate and Leeds via Alwoodley. Buses on the A61 between Leeds and Alwoodley face delays of up to 13 minutes. Our improvements could help to eradicate this, making buses more reliable and attractive.

We have contacted you as you have previous signed up to alerts on this scheme. We have updated our plans to improve bus service reliability for this route following public feedback we have received and additional analysis we have undertaken.

Our plans now include proposals for King Lane and Stonegate Road which did not form part of the original consultation.

The consultation also includes plans to build a Park and Ride facility at Alwoodley Gates.

Please take a few minutes to read these updated proposals. They show the latest improvements along this route, how these have changed in response to your feedback. You can also find an update on the bus lane proposals we consulted on during October 2018.

  • Tuesday 26 February 2019, Chapel Allerton Lawn Tennis Club , Wensley Avenue, drop-in anytime between 5pm to 8pm
  • Thursday 28 February 2019, Moortown Baptist Church , King Lane, drop-in anytime between 5 to 8pm
  • Saturday 2 March 2019, Caribbean Cricket Club , Scott Hall Road, drop-in anytime between 10am to 2pm
  • Park & Ride event: Thursday 7th March 2019, Treetops Community Centre, Squirrel Way, drop-in anytime between 5-8pm.
  • We are also planning improvements in Harewood to the A659 The Avenue junction. These proposals are available here .
